What We Offer
Podiatry Services in Bellmore, NY
At Cherrywood Foot Care, our Bellmore podiatrist treats a wide range of foot and ankle conditions using the most advanced technologies available:
Conditions We Treat
Common Foot Conditions Treated at Our Bellmore Office
Bunions
A bunion is a bony bump that forms at the base of the big toe, most commonly caused by wearing tight shoes or genetic foot structure. Bunions can cause significant pain and difficulty walking. Our Bellmore podiatrist offers both conservative treatment options and bunion surgery for more severe cases. If you are searching for a bunion specialist in Bellmore, Cherrywood Foot Care is here to help.
Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain, caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia — the thick band of tissue connecting your heel bone to your toes. Symptoms include stabbing heel pain, especially in the morning or after long periods of rest. Our Bellmore podiatrist offers shockwave therapy, custom orthotics, and other proven treatments to relieve plantar fasciitis pain.
Heel Pain
Heel pain can result from plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, Achilles tendinitis, or stress fractures. Regardless of the cause, our podiatrist in Bellmore will perform a thorough evaluation including digital X-rays and diagnostic ultrasound to identify the source of your pain and develop a personalized treatment plan.
Ingrown Toenails
Ingrown toenails occur when the nail grows into the surrounding skin, causing pain, redness, swelling, and sometimes infection. With more than 3 million cases annually, this is one of the most common conditions we treat. Our Bellmore podiatrist can provide both conservative care and minor surgical procedures to provide lasting relief.
Fungal Toenails
Toenail fungus causes nails to become discolored, thickened, and brittle. Cherrywood Foot Care is one of the first offices on Long Island to offer Noveon Laser Therapy for fungal toenails — a safe, effective, no-downtime treatment that eliminates the infection without damaging the nail.
Diabetic Foot Care
Patients with diabetes require specialized foot care to prevent serious complications including infections, ulcers, and in severe cases, amputation. Our Bellmore podiatrist provides comprehensive diabetic foot care including regular examinations, wound care, and custom orthotics to protect your feet and keep you healthy.
Flat Feet
Flat feet, or fallen arches, can cause pain in the feet, ankles, knees, and lower back. Our podiatrist in Bellmore can evaluate your gait and foot structure and recommend custom orthotics or physical therapy to correct overpronation and relieve pain throughout the lower body.
Hammertoes
Hammertoes occur when the middle joint of a toe bends abnormally downward, often caused by muscle imbalance or ill-fitting footwear. If left untreated, hammertoes can become rigid and painful. Our Bellmore podiatrist offers both non-surgical and surgical treatment options depending on the severity of your condition.
Neuromas
A neuroma, or pinched nerve, causes burning, tingling, or numbness between the toes and in the ball of the foot. Dr. Burke and his team treat neuromas using padding and taping, anti-inflammatory medications, custom orthotics, and if necessary, surgical options including cortisone injections or nerve decompression.
Warts
Plantar warts are hard, grainy growths on the bottom of the foot caused by a viral infection. They can be painful and may spread if left untreated. Our podiatrist in Bellmore offers effective wart treatment options including medicated ointments and laser removal for more stubborn cases.
Athlete’s Foot
Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection causing itching, burning, and scaly rashes between the toes and on the sole of the foot. Our Bellmore podiatrist can diagnose the severity of your infection and recommend the most effective topical or oral antifungal treatment.
